A car salesman took matters into his own hands after a deal for a Land Rover fell through, as he converted a Ford Fiesta into a 4x4 using vintage tractor wheels.
Charlie Burns attached a set of tractor wheels onto the Ford for just £84 and took the modified vehicle out for a spin along a muddy track at the Pay and Play event in Leicestershire.
The 25-year-old, from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, attached four £1 vintage tractor wheels onto a 15-year-old, £80 Fiesta to create a bizarre new 'set of wheels'.
He spent five hours adapting the car so he could fit the wheels on and drive the vehicle. Mr Burns then filmed himself as he drove the car up steep, muddy slopes and deep water on the track. Other footage was filmed by one of his friends from a hilltop which captured all the action from vantage point.
The final bit of footage shows the vehicle being towed away from the scene on Sunday.
Mr Burns shared the pictures and video to social media on the same day with the caption: 'The wheels all stayed on which surprised me. But, the clutch didn't last all that long which didn't surprise me. All in, a good day's fun.'
Speaking today, Mr Burns said: 'Let me make it clear I'm not a total idiot - I wasn't expecting this to work very well at all.
'If I'm honest the way the gearing works with such big wheels the clutch never stood a chance. I was happy it got as far as it did.
'I had spaced the front wheels out with another set of car wheels just so I had some steering available to me. It was that wide by the end it only just fitted on the recovery truck.
'I also got a lot of attention at the petrol station and on the drive to and from the event.'
