The marriage between LEGO and cars has always been a fruitful one, helping inspire generation after generation to join the petrolhead cult, delivering supercars and race cars to our lounge rooms for decades.
Following the instructions was always fine, but the beauty was that there was nothing to stop you from diverting from those and creating your own machine. Most recently, LEGO themselves stepped up the game with their own set of rather bonkers instructions for something a little more ambitious than your regular set from the toy shop down the road ... one with a mind-numbing 349,911-piece kit, and a 750-hour assembly time.
In conjunction with the folks at Scuderia Ferrari, LEGO went absolutely all out with their creation — designing and executing individual parts for the wheels, brakes, brake ducts, and a steering wheel that features all the buttons down to the row of shift lights on top.
The end result is something that looks surprisingly accurate, complete with all the sponsor logos stuck on. Check out the video above to watch the various time-lapses of the plastic Ferrari emerging out of the ground.
