McLaren has released its second teaser of the upcoming 570LT (long tail), a hardcore, lightweight version of the 570S.
The next McLaren in the company's Sports Series is two weeks away from being revealed in full, ahead of a public debut at the UK’s 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed in July where it will be driven up the famous driveway.
The teaser image confirms the new model will use a pair of top-exit exhaust pipes, with the tips shooting flames and a sportier note directly out the engine bay of the mid-engine supercar. The short exhaust hints at the 570LT's purpose as a weight saving, performance orientated model.
The new image follows the release of a partial view of the rear last week, displaying wider tyres, style changes and new aerodynamic blades seemingly made from carbon fibre.
McLaren say the new model will 'benefit from increased power, minimised weight, optimised aerodynamics and enhanced driver engagement.' McLaren has also confirmed that, like the McLaren Senna, the 570LT will be 'limited to the few.'
The 570LT is likely to follow in the footsteps of the 675LT with limited-edition coupe and spider versions.
The new 570LT will be driven up the famous Goodwood Hill Climb for the first time on Thursday July 12, and be the fifth model under McLaren’s Track22 business plan.
Announced in 2016, the company’s Track22 business plan will see the company invest over $1.9billion in research and development to deliver 15 new cars or derivatives by the end of 2022, half of which will be hybrids.
