Carlin teammates come to blows after Knockhill Formula 4 crash

Carlin Motorsport are one of the world's big racing powerhouses in terms of scouting out then engineering international champion drivers. Over the years, the likes of Sebastien Vettel, Will Power, Daniel Ricciardo, and even Kiwi Brendon Hartley have gone through their doors.

But dealing with drivers at this young, what some might label ‘raw’ age, can be a dramatic process. The drivers that Carlin specialises in are largely made up of teenagers with the odd 20-nothing thrown in for balance, and at that age many of them still need to work on their racecraft.

Case in point being two of Carlin's British Formula 4 stars, Petru Florescu and Devlin DeFrancesco, who didn't play so nicely over the weekend at the latest round of the series at Knockhill Racing Circuit.

Knockhill is a treacherous wee little circuit, with even the front straight pitched onto an angled slope. This is where Florescu and DeFrancesco — the latter being a graduate of the Toyota Racing Series — came unstuck.

We'll let you come to your own conclusions on who caused the ultimate spew of carbon and metal onto the circuit, but it does look a little like everyone's pointing the finger at DeFrancesco. Even the marshal ...
