  • Annual BEV-focused Take Charge Expo on again for 2025.
  • Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, first weekend of November.
  • New brands include Geely, Zeekr - and Honda with its first pure-EV for NZ.

The Take Charge Expo will once run in Christchurch this year, at the Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 November 2025.

Event focuses purely on BEVs.

Take Charge is a free-to-enter event that aims to "showcase the latest and greatest in battery electric vehicles to give the public the chance to see first-hand the vehicle technology that is available", say the organisers.

Vehicles on display this year will include: BYD's Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal and Sealion 7, the Farizon SuperVan, Geely EX5 and Riddara RD6, Honda e:N1, MG4 and S5 EV, Mini Aceman and Countryman, Nissan Ariya, Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pro, and the Zeekr X and 7X models.

Z Energy will also have an official presence, sharing information about its public charging network.

Last year's event. But 2025 will see several new brands on show.

Prizes will be available, courtesy of some of the exhibitors.

Take Charge Expo will be open to the public on Saturday 1 November from 10am-5pm and Sunday 2 November from 9am-4pm.

Visitors can enter Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre via the Cathedral Square entrance.
