Are you sick of people referring to your Swift Sport as being too 'cute' or 'soft'? Well thanks to the wonders of JDM tuning outfits, we may have found the perfect solution.

The new generation Suzuki Swift Sport has just been given a shot in the arm thanks to tuning specialists Kuhl Racing.

The Japanese-based tuning outfit is well-known in their homeland for working on highly customised performance cars like Nissan GT-Rs and Subaru WRXs, winning prestigious awards at top Japanese motoring shows like Tokyo Auto Salon. But the company also has a history of tinkering with more common nameplates like the Toyota Prius and Mazda-MX5.

Now though, Kuhl Racing have turned their attention to Suzuki's hot hatch, developing a full body kit and giving the small car a much more aggressive presence on the road.

The kit includes front, rear and side skirt add-ons to the factory bodywork, larger rear diffuser, a roof-mounted spoiler and headlight covers. The visual upgrades are completed with a new de-badged grille and a set of black six-spoke wheels.

The Kuhl Racing body kit is priced at 360,000 yen (approximately NZ$4,800) in Japan, with the rear spoiler adding 15,000 (NZ$199), excluding taxes and shipping.

If you wanted to go a step further, Kuhl Racing also offer a range of aftermarket suspension (which we assume the car pictured is fitted with) and new mufflers specially developed for the new turbocharged Swift.

Kuhl Racing don't make reference to any potential power gains achieved from the pipes, so it's likely the 1.4-litre four-cylinder Swift Sport wouldn't stray far from its standard output, producing 103kW of power and 230Nm of torque.

Weighing in at only 975kg dry, a stock Swift Sport can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.1 seconds and onto a top speed of 209km/h.

But when a modified hatch looks this good, we'd recommend a top speed of 50km/h so everyone on the streets can take a second to soak it all in.
