Subaru of New Zealand has introduced a "Spec B" version of its WRX sedan. The manual-only machine is priced at the same $69,990 as the tS automatic, but features a few choice performance-enhancing additions. And a big wing. You can't miss the wing.

The Spec B combines manual transmission with Subaru's Drive Mode Select for the first time, with a choice of Comfort, Normal, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. This includes electronically adjustable dampers.
There are 19-inch alloy wheels in matte grey finish with "specially selected" Bridgestone Potenza S007 tyres, and a Brembo braking system with gold-painted 6-piston front and 2-piston rear callipers. Front and rear brakes are ventilated and drilled.
The Spec B heads up a mildly revised WRX range, which now features Recaro sports bucket front seats, new 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster with 3 modes, and the Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) also introduced in the new-gen Forester.

EDSS monitors driver input, delivering escalated alerts, and, if required, safely bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop. Following the controlled stop, the system can automatically activate hazard lights and unlock the doors.
