A driver smashed their Toyota Yaris through the window of a Specsavers branch in London; sparking a frenzy of jokes online.
Motorists travelling along Ruislip High Street in north west London, faced long delays after a car crashed through the window of the glasses store just after 8am today.
Pictures of the smashed vehicle and shop window appeared online.
Jokers said that the driver 'should have gone to Specsavers' - like the firm's slogan - but should have gone 'through the door' instead of 'through a plate glass window'.
Local Adam Green joked: 'Well, there is a front door you know - you don't have to go through a plate glass window to get a new pair of specs.'
Another local, Kam Gosal wrote: 'Perhaps they have him wrong prescription glasses.'
Spence White said: 'Ok, so he should have gone to Specsavers before getting behind the wheel, but at least the intent was there.'
Tony Collins wrote: 'It wasn't me officer...I've been framed.'
Commuter John Newman said: 'Well that's another 30 minutes added to my commute.'
Another, calling themselves RickyGH65said: 'Great, now I'm going to be late for work again, but this time it's not my fault.'
Kerry Cherry Berry wrote online: 'Shoulda gone to Specsavers before getting in the car.'
Another, Allan Hewetson wrote: 'They should have gone to Specsavers.....oh they did....well nearly.'
Police helped the driver out of the car, who is believed to have suffered minor injuries and have launched an investigation into the incident.
