Samsung has revealed a new addition to its in-ear headphone Galaxy Buds lineup in the form of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, ditching the blobby bean shape of previous incarnations in favour of the stemmed design from high-end Samsung Buds 3 models that was originally popularised by Apple with its Air Pods.
According to Samsung, Galaxy Buds 3 FE are designed to deliver premium features at an accessible price, in keeping with the rest of its FE (Fan Edition) range of devices, as well as offer an enhanced audio experience.
Promising up to 6 hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) on, or 8.5 hours with it off, Galaxy Buds 3 FE feature larger speakers than the previous model, which Samsung says helps deliver "rich, powerful sound with deep bass and clear treble" while enhanced ANC reduces ambient noise to create "a more immersive listening experience."
Listening time can be extended to up to 24 hours (30 with ANC off) with the charging case, while talk time of four hours can be extended to 18 hours with the case.
In terms of phone calls, Buds 3 FE use Samsung's Crystal Clear Call technology, an advanced pre-trained machine learning model to isolate your voice, ensuring conversations remain clear even in noisy environments.
Buds 3 FE are also packed with advanced AI features and can listen, understand, and respond without a screen or hands. Samsung says the experience is fast, natural, and conversational, and is designed to feel more like "talking to a friend than using a device."
Users can also check their daily agenda or email without looking at their phone, while Buds 3 FE will also work in conjunction with the Galaxy AI Interpreter app on a user's phone for live translation of a foreign language.
Other specs include Find My Earbuds support, an ambient sound transparency mode, and the ability to auto-switch between Samsung devices.
Galaxy Buds 3 FE will be available in New Zealand from 26th September.
