Top-spec RR1 750 claims blistering 2.0-second 0 to 100km/h sprint.

  • Rezvani Retro will build only 50 RR1 models based on the current 992-generation Porsche 911.
  • RR1 600 produces 441kW with rear-wheel drive, while the RR1 750 delivers 552kW with all-wheel drive.
  • Pricing starts at around NZ$555k including the base 911 Carrera.

Rezvani Motors is best known for making wild, Mad Max-grade SUVs like the Tank and bulletproof Knight

Now, the California outfit is taking a sharp turn away from armoured excess with a new division: Rezvani Retro - focused on custom Porsche 911 builds. Its first creation, the RR1, swaps military vibes for motorsport nostalgia, channelled through the lens of the late-’70s Le Mans-winning Porsche 935.

Martini, meet modern muscle

Only 50 RR1s will be made, each based on the current 992-generation 911. The first example, built for a California client, wears a classic Martini livery over mostly carbon fibre bodywork.

In a nod to its racing muse, the RR1 keeps the original 911 doors but wraps the rest in a wide, aggressive shell.

Rezvani calls it “timeless looks” paired with “today’s engineering” - and, in fairness, it’s hard to argue with the silhouette.

Two flavours of fast

The entry RR1 600 uses the 911 Carrera’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six, tuned to 441kW, driving the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or seven-speed PDK.

That’s good for a 0 to 100km/h sprint in about 3.0 seconds. The RR1 750 starts with the 911 Turbo S and pushes its 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six to 552kW, sending power to all four wheels via PDK only.

Rezvani claims the latter can demolish 0 to 100km/h in just 2.0 seconds. That's supercar pace in a retro suit.

Price of admission

Rezvani Retro RR1

A Rezvani Retro RR1 build starts at US$195,000 before options - on top of the donor car. Given a base 911 Carrera now lists at US$132,300 plus fees, the absolute entry price is roughly US$329,650 (around NZ$555k at current exchange rates).

That’s before eye-watering extras like Brembo GT-S brakes (US$12,500), centre-lock wheel conversions (US$12,500), Ohlins TTX-Pro coil-overs (US$8,500), or a custom livery (US$7,500).

And unlike Rezvani’s SUV range, there’s no bulletproofing or spy-spec gadgetry - at least, not yet.

Rezvani first teased the RR1 earlier this year with renderings, but the car now exists in the metal. Whether the brand eventually brings its ballistic heritage to this Porsche project remains to be seen, though given Rezvani’s history, you wouldn’t bet against it.
