Holden New Zealand has today announced pricing starting at $45,900 for its new generation ZB Commodore line-up — set to arrive in showrooms next month.

Offering three body configurations, the ZB Commodore line-up is structured into four product lines.

The new Commodore prices were announced in Auckland today by the president of General Motors International, Barry Engle, and the managing director of Holden New Zealand, Kristian Aquilina.

The five-door liftback provides separate luxury and sport lines. Luxury starts with the entry-level Commodore LT model and then progresses to Calais grade – both in front-drive and 2.0-litre turbo configuration. Holden NZ says the 2.0-litre Calais liftback will only be available to firm customer order.

Luxury tops out with the Calais V which adds the 3.6-litre V6 engine and all-wheel-drive to the equation.

The sports liftback pillar starts with the RS model in 2.0-litre front-drive layout and then progresses to RS V and flagship VXR models — both with the V6 engine and all-wheel-drive.

ZB Sportwagon will be offered in LT and RS 2.0-litre turbo models plus a top-of-the-range RS V which introduces the V6 engine and AWD to the Sportwagon line.

In New Zealand the high-ride AWD Tourer will only be offered in Calais V specification.

The new 2.0-litre diesel engine — now confirmed with 125kW output, 400Nm of torque and an eight-speed automatic transmission — will be available as an option for the LT liftback and LT sportwagon models.

There are two variants available in Australia which Holden New Zealand has decided not to offer. Australia gets an RS grade liftback powered by the V6 AWD powertrain and begins the high-ride Tourer line-up with a Calais model.

One outcome from not stocking these two derivatives is a tidier naming convention. In the New Zealand market all models with the letter V in the designation — RS V, Calais V and VXR — are equipped with the V6 engine and adaptive AWD system.
