BMW will celebrate the release of the all-new M5 sports sedan in 2018 by producing the limited, ultra-exclusive BMW M5 First Edition, a model that has now been confirmed for arrival on our shores.
BMW New Zealand has confirmed that two M5 First Editions are be destined for the New Zealand Market. With a global allocation of only 400 units, the two M5 First Editions will be one of rarest brand new BMWs offered to Kiwi customers in 2018.
As the name suggests, the First Edition will be available to early customers looking for a sports sedan with added ambiance. The full production run of 400 M5 First Editions will be completed by June 2018 at the latest.
The M5 First Edition will have the same 441kW/750Nm 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 engine and switchable all-wheel drivetrain as the MY18 M5. But the First Edition model will be distinguishable with special paint and a range of select items from BMW's Individual customisation portfolio.
The M5 First Edition's exterior will be finished exclusively in Frozen Dark Red metallic paint with added high gloss shadow lines, gloss black accents and Jet Black 20-inch M alloy wheels.
The limited M5 will also feature M side gills, exhaust pipes, rear spoiler and body colour door handles, replacing the chrome M5 items.
A full leather merino upholstery finished in Smoke White with red contrast stitching will dominate the interior, which will also receive piano black trim pieces, M multifunction seats, and an individually-numbered plaque on the center console.
The first 2018 M5s are expected to arrive from Q2, 2018, simultaneously joined by the M5 First Edition.
Pricing will be announced closer to the 2018 M5's local debut.
