Unlike some others who would scoff at the prices people pay for supercars and sports cars, the Driven team understand that the value is often easily justified.

But that doesn't mean that we also buy into the value of some of the other special edition pieces that manufacturers sell on the side. Shirts, jackets, and model cars aside, most of it is strange useless overpriced baloney. Branded pencil sharpeners, leather embossed toilet-bowl scrubbers, stubby holders.

But even us, deep in our stew of crippling cynicism, would accept owning this new office chair from Porsche. The German marque revealed the latest iteration of their office chair the other day, showing off nice yellow stitching, and what appear to be base-mounted buttons for adjustment. And it's available in over 100 colours.

How much is it exactly? Well, if you're based in Australia it's AU$7,159.18. That translates to almost $8,000 in New Zealand currency. Comfortably enough to buy a reasonable car, or even this novelty shelf made from the genuine rear wing of a Porsche 911 GT3

I'd give it exactly a week before someone in our office would nick it from my desk.
