Colorado joins the force

New Zealand Police has taken delivery of the first of more than 30 new Holden Colorado utes.

The new models were launched at the weekend, and specially equipped police editions have been delivered this week.

“The new Holden Colorado is well suited for Police duties, especially from a fit-for-purpose perspective, as it’s incredibly versatile, safe, responsive and quick off the mark when required” said the Managing Director of Holden New Zealand, Kristian Aquilina.

“Furthermore, it features a 1-tonne payload across the range, 3.5-tonne towing capability plus impressive all-wheel drive ability which enhance its credentials even further.”

The new model features boosted levels of quietness, ride and handling, as well as a completely refreshed interior.

In addition to Apple Carplay and Android Auto, features which add a new level of safety and convenience include Front Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Tyre pressure monitor, power folding exterior mirrors and rain-sensing windscreen wipers.

The Colorado deal continues General Motors Holden's long association with supplying vehicles to the New Zealand Police.
