In a new twist on in-car entertainment, Polestar has launched its own version of the global gaming hit GeoGuessr.

For those of you who haven't tried the fiendishly addictive GeoGuessr, it is a "geolocation-based game" that challenges millions of players to pin-point real-world locations using only visual clues.

Using Google maps, the game drops you into a random location and you must deduce where in the world you are simply from looking around (hint, road signs give you a BIG hint!). And while it sounds like a relatively simple premise, it is a remarkably easy way to waste away alarming amounts of time.

In the new GeoGuessr Polestar edition, players will need to explore Europe’s best driving roads, but with a with a unique Polestar meta-twist, as the game includes a view from the Polestar 4’s digital rear-view mirror at the top of the screen. No, it really doesn't change how the game works, but it is a fun car-based touch.

"GeoGuessr and Polestar both celebrate exploration," Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, said of the collaboration.

"With Polestar 4’s rear-view mirror built directly into the game, we’ve created a playful link between our technology and one of the world’s most loved digital adventures. It’s the perfect entertainment offer when you are charging your Polestar."

To mark the launch, Polestar and GeoGuessr have kicked off a Europe-wide competition alongside the 2025 GeoGuessr World Championship Finals in Copenhagen. The winner will enjoy a "once-in-a-lifetime trip to Polestar’s HQ in Gothenburg, including a full test track day with a professional racing driver".

But that is, of course, for residents of Europe only, so we just get a version of GeoGuessr with a rear view mirror, but it's still every bit as addictive. GeoGuessr Polestar edition is now available on mobile, desktop, and, of course, in all Polestar cars via the in-car browser, joining the brand’s growing line-up of digital experiences.
