Polestar has officially unveiled the Polestar 5, a four-door performance grand tourer. It will be offered in two variants, a Dual Motor and the Performance model.

The flagship model, the Polestar 5 Performance, delivers a peak 650kW/1015Nm. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.1 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The Dual Motor model delivers 550kW/812Nm, with 0-100km/h in 3.9sec.
Thanks to its 800‑volt electrical architecture, the 5 can charge at up to 350kW on a compatible DC fast charger, going from 10–80% battery capacity in as little as 22 minutes.

The Dual Motor can achieve up to 670km of range under WLTP testing, partly due to its smart rear motor which can disconnect; the Polestar 5 Performance achieves 565km.
A brand-new aluminium chassis will support the new Polestar 5, forming the foundation of the Polestar Performance Architecture. According to Polestar, the new model will have “torsional rigidity higher than that of a two-seat sports or supercar.”

The Polestar 5 achieves its sleek shape without sacrificing rear seat space by moving the rear header structure behind the passengers’ heads, while also taking advantage of a digital rear-view mirror, previously seen in the Polestar 4. It also boasts the brand’s largest panoramic glass roof, at just over 2 metres long and 1.25 metres wide.
When the central armrest in its lower position, the Polestar 5 can control the four-zone climate system, seat heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The rear seats also follow a similar design to the Recaros in the front and can individually be reclined for comfort.

A cutout in the battery also gives occupants extra foot space and a more comfortable seating position.
Customers can upgrade from the standard Polestar High Performance Audio system with 10 speakers to a 21‑speaker Bowers & Wilkins system delivering 1680W of power.
Polestar has continued its objective to use recycled materials to produce the 5, including Econyl, a recycled material made from fishing nets that are used on the carpets, and recycled PET for the headlining.
