Peugeot New Zealand scored a big win at the weekend when the Sydney Roosters beat the Warriors 25-21 in their rugby league match at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium.

Peugeot is a sponsor of the Sydney team and the Roosters’ captain, Jake Friend, spent the day before the game checking out the new 308 wagon.

Friend is also a Peugeot ambassador in Australia and drives a 4008 large crossover.

Roosters chief commercial officer Jarrod Johnstone told Driven the club was halfway through a three-year sponsorship deal with Peugeot Australia.

Some of the team management drove Peugeots, said Johnstone, and the club was giving away a car as part of its membership drive.

Away from the league field, the Roosters team will be heading to The Farm in New South Wales next week for a track day and Johnstone said: “All the boys are really excited about it, they’re all into their cars.”
