Lightweight 1170kg body houses 82kWh battery and twin motors.

  • The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo delivers 588kW/800Nm and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.0 seconds.
  • The concept debuts at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich and launches in Gran Turismo 7 this autumn.
  • Lightweight construction keeps weight to 1170kg despite an 82kWh battery, aided by advanced materials.

Opel has whipped the covers off its latest showpiece: the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo, a concept that blurs the lines between physical and digital.

Due for its world premiere at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich this September, the hot hatch will also land in Gran Turismo 7 later in the year, giving anyone with a PlayStation the chance to wrestle with 588kW of virtual fury.

Small car, big punch

The numbers are unashamedly wild: twin electric motors (one on each axle) pump out a combined 588kW and 800Nm, launching the car from 0 to 100km/h in just two seconds. A boost function adds another 59kW for four-second bursts, while top speed is quoted at 320km/h.

Despite carrying an 82kWh battery, clever use of lightweight materials keeps mass to 1170kg.

Opel CEO Florian Huettl calls it “a clear view to the future,” pairing the Corsa’s everyday badge with GSE performance muscle. Gran Turismo series boss Kazunori Yamauchi was equally upbeat, noting Opel’s “rich racing heritage” and predicting fans will be keen to virtually thrash the car once it drops.

Aero wizardry and Blitz flair

The design is anything but subtle. Opel’s signature Compass theme is reinterpreted into a central “spine,” with the illuminated Blitz badge taking pride of place. Active aero trickery run aplenty (diffuser, spoiler, bonnet ducts), all working to keep it glued to tarmac (or pixels).

Even the wheel setup goes asymmetric: 21-inch fronts and 22-inch rears, both with Bilstein dampers and painted in a tri-tone palette of white, black and yellow.

Inside, things get deliberately minimal. A slim steering wheel clears the view for a head-up display, while a suspended driver’s seat and illuminated fabrics double as both theatre and safety. It’s all very “detoxed”, Opel’s term for stripping away distraction while leaving enough flash to wow the show crowds.

From rally roots to gaming screens

Opel has been dabbling in concept cars since the Experimental GT in 1965, but the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo might be its most ambitious yet.

By planting the Corsa badge into both a motor show stand and millions of gaming rigs, Opel is signalling its GSE sub-brand is serious about electrified performance, whether you’re behind the wheel or just behind a controller.
