Polestar 3 owners can now unlock, start and drive their vehicles as long as they are wearing their Apple Watch or have their iPhone in their pockets.
A recent over-the-air (OTA) update has added the Polestar "key" to Apple Wallet, taking connectivity a step further than the previous Digital Key mobile-phone connectivity.
Customers have the ability to share car keys in Apple Wallet through Messages, Mail, AirDrop, WhatsApp, and more with up to five other users; vehicle owners can also decide whether these additional users are able to gain access to their vehicle or have the ability to drive it.
A Power Reserve feature allows users to utilise their keys in Apple Wallet to access and start their vehicle, even if the iPhone needs to be charged.
The company says support for Polestar 4 is coming soon.
