Never mind the track driving: let's cook! Nissan Design America, sushi-chef Hiroyuki Terada ("Chef Hiro") and knifemaker Kiryu have collaborated on a new product: the Z Nismo Precision Sushi Knife.

It's a Z Nismo product, in case you hadn't realised.

Handmade by Kiryu in Niigata Prefecture, the 210mm double-beveled blade is "crafted for clean, precise cuts – just as a high-performance machine is built for optimal execution", says Nissan. Nice synergy there, team.

The knife is quite Nismoey (technical term), with a bright red stripe on the handle. Each blade is individually numbered and carries the Z logo, Chef Hiro's name and the Kiryu insignia.

There were just 240 knives produced by the colab, a reference to the classic Nissan 240Z (aka Fairlady).

Principal knifemaker Satoshi Kiryu is a big Nissan 240 guy. Don't argue with him.

Apparently both Chef Hiro and Kiryu's principal knifemaker Satoshi Kiryu are both big-time Nissan sports car fans. Yeah, they would say that, but there's some enthusing to be seen in the video above.

The Z Nismo Precision Sushi Knife was available from Nissan Nismo Parts in the US for NZ$525. Yes, that's "was", because it's sold out.
