Nissan has revealed its lineup for the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon, promising a showcase of innovation and nostalgia.
Among the highlights is an R32 Skyline GT-R converted into an electric vehicle (EV), blending the iconic car's heritage with cutting-edge technology.
The EV R32 Skyline GT-R, which began development in March 2023, has captivated enthusiasts worldwide.
Detailed on Nissan's Japanese social media platforms over the past year, the electromod project involved meticulous disassembly and reengineering.
The original twin-turbocharged engine and suspension were removed, making way for a carefully integrated battery system and what appears to be a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. While exact specifications remain under wraps, the transformation signals Nissan’s vision for electrifying automotive legends.
Nissan will also showcase two X-Trail concepts tailored for distinct experiences.

The X-Trail Unwind modernises the latest crossover with a striking paint job, flared fenders, and a custom trailer designed to create a seamless indoor-outdoor living space. Nissan describes it as ideal for “luxurious moments like enjoying authentic espresso.”
In contrast, the X-Trail Remastered reimagines the previous-generation model, offering a retro-inspired environment for enjoying analogue records.

A disaster support variant of the Caravan will make its debut, equipped with a Leaf-derived battery and solar panels. Nissan claims this setup can sustain relief operations for several days, emphasising functionality in emergency scenarios.

Additionally, Autech versions of the Aura and Serena will feature sportier aesthetics, retuned suspensions and sharper steering for enhanced dynamics.
Nissan’s performance pedigree will be on full display with models such as the Ariya Nismo, Fairlady Z and GT-R Nismo Special Edition. The Motul Autech Z Super GT race car will also join the lineup, emphasising the brand's motorsport legacy.
The 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon serves as a platform for Nissan to celebrate its history while embracing electrification and sustainability. The EV R32 Skyline GT-R stands as a symbol of this dual commitment, offering a glimpse of how beloved classics might thrive in an electric future.
