The Auckland crew of Scott and Jarred Biggs are proving the form team in the New Zealand 4x4 Trials Championship.
The brothers, who campaign a home-built 6-litre Chevrolet V8-engined Class D Super Modified truck, won the second round of the national series near Waihi on Saturday to back up their victory at the Whatawhata opening round in November.
A final margin of just 8.25 penalty points at Waihi saw the Biggs brothers edge out Otaki's Malcolm and Ayden McLeavey in their four-cylinder Class C Super Modified machine, who had led the 34-vehicle field through the morning session of hazards.
Whakatane's Silven Schicker and Jason Riini made an impressive run through the afternoon course to climb the leader board and finish third.
Former national champion Hamish Auret (Wanganui) and co-driver Paul Barnes finished sixth at Waihi with their 7-litre Corvette engined Class D truck and are the closest challengers to the Biggs team after two rounds.
Scott Biggs leads the series with 200 points from Auret on 194 and Wanganui's Kevin Hermansen on 190 points. Round three of the six-round 2016-17 championship will be hosted by the South Waikato 4WD Club near Okoroire on January 21.
