- More power than ever for RS, but also a higher price.
- Trick AWD system can send 100% of torque to rear axle.
- Faster, but can also tow more: up to 2500kg.
Skoda has announced pricing and pre-sale availability of the second-generation Kodiaq RS 7-seater SUV. But fair warning, the sticker is pretty hefty: it's fully kitted-up but starts at $95,000. First deliveries are expect late-2025, although Skoda NZ says it's in "limited supply".

That probably not as bad as it sounds, given the previous model climbed up over $80k. But we haven't seen a Skoda SUV near $100k since the launch of the Enyaq in 2023 (and that didn't go so well for a variety of reasons).
This looks like quite a machine, though. The Kodiaq RS boasts a more powerful 2.0 TSI petrol engine, delivering 195kW/400Nm (shared with Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line AWD and Cupra Terramar VZ). The engine control unit is specifically adapted to the RS, says Skoda, and the model comes with Dynamic Sound Boost, ensuring an "emotive engine sound".
The all-wheel drive allows up to 100% of torque to be redirected to the rear axle, and up to 85% to a single wheel (in conjunction with Electronic Differential Lock). The new AWD setup also increases towing capacity, enabling the Škoda Kodiaq RS to pull 2500kg. The RS also has uprated brakes.

The RS features gloss black exterior details, specific bumpers and a front-grille horizontal light strip. Standard equipment includes LED Matrix beam headlights, progressive steering, DCC Plus and a Canton sound system.
As with all Škoda RS models, the rear has a reflector spanning the width of the vehicle. The Škoda lettering and model designation on the tailgate also come in black.
The standard 20-inch Elias alloy wheels have a polished black finish and are exclusive to the RS.
