For many, the 2018 Ford Mustang will prove to be the provider of more than enough power and fun.
But, for everyone else, there's a new wave of aftermarket upgrades available locally — as confirmed by CTB Performance and Accessories.
The company have unveiled their 2018 upgrades, from the humble Stage One kit all the way to Stage Three.
The entry-level Stage One kit will set buyers back $4531, and includes the cold-air intake from the GT350, an 87mm throttlebody, FPRP intake adapter, and calibration (plus a bevy of badging). This props output up to 350kW and 610Nm (up from 339kW and 556Nm respectively). Stage Two takes the same package and adds a GT350 intake manifold for another 30kW, at $7337.
Then you've got the top-tier Stage Three package; which adds a 2650 Twin Vortices Supercharger, lower intake manifold, throttle body, air-inlet system, fuel rails, an air-to-liquid inter-cooler system, drive-shaft hoops, and high-flow injectors at $19,665.
This culminates in a tyre-shredding output of 530kW and 827Nm — equalling the Roush JackHammer package revealed last week.
CTB have also announced the pricing of their MY18 Spec 2 and Spec 3 RTR packages. The Spec 2 kit rolls in at a rounded $20,000 for solely the kit, while a full car will cost $99,000. Spec 3 on the other hand is $39,000, or $118,990 for a full car all up.
The Spec 2 packs 348kW via a Ford Performance 'Power Package', plus RTR's full visual kit [pictured above] and suspension upgrades. The Spec 3 goes full ballistic, with the same output as the Stage Three, plus the Spec 2's visual and damping changes.
While we're yet to drive the current RTR, Driven had a fang in the previous generation RTR Spec 2 a few months ago. And ride quality despite the signature 20-inch wheels was among the highlights.
Now, the obvious issue with dumping modifications on a car is generally the lack of protection if things go wrong. However, each of theses kits come with a three-year, 100,000km full drive-line warranty backed by Ford Performance.
Not bad for peace of mind while you're scaring the crap out of yourself and your passengers with the right foot ...
