After an extremely successful year, China's largest SUV and ute manufacturer is considering bringing its luxury SUV brand to New Zealand.
Great Wall Motors has revealed that its luxury SUV brand, WEY, is being considered for the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The P8, WEY's flagship SUV, went on sale in China early last year and over 3300 vehicles were sold over the course of 2018.
Featuring electric motors on each axle that work alongside a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the P8's combined power output is a respectable 250kW and 530Nm of torque.
Considering the home charge time of just four hours, the 660 kilometre range and combined fuel consumption of 2.3 L/100km, makes the P8 looks like an impressive hybrid SUV.
Alongside the large P8, WEY also has the VV5, VV6, VV7 in its luxury SUV line-up.
As well as talking about the idea of WEY being introduced to the markets down under, Great Wall Motors revealed the interior of their new EV "Adventure" ute.
Destined for Australian and New Zealand markets, the "urban" ute's interior looks extremely impressive.
"The news generation ute has been developed to meet consumer expectations of high levels of interior comfort, serious off-road capabilities and be a multi-purpose family vehicle," said Bill Soo, GWM's ANZ Marketing Manager.
The next-gen ute will be officially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show later this month.
