The words "aww it's so cute" are rarely associated with a big V8 brawler like the Chevrolet Camaro.
But we can probably make an exception here.
Hot Wheels and Chevrolet, for the second time in recent history, have combined to create the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition — in both tiny pocket-friendly 1:64 scale and in a slightly more practical and usable 1:1 scale.
The pint-sized Camaro comes with a three-piece construction, metallic paint, and larger rear wheels for that true, slightly cartoonish Hot Wheels look.
The real thing comes with the same paint, and larger rear boots, and a healthy amount of customisation.
Yes, rather than having a specific 'Hot Wheels' edition singular model, Camaro buyers simply order the model they crave in the line-up (be it a six-pack convertible or a V8 coupe) and order it with the Hot Wheels Edition trimmings.
Beyond the 'Crush' paint work and the lashings of Hot Wheels and 50th Anniversary badging and striping, the special trim level comes with a re-coloured interior, 20-inch forged wheels, silver trim in places like the sideskirts, and door sill plates among a few other aesthetic changes. This all for an additional price of US$4,995.
For proper petrol heads, the aesthetic nature of the edition might be a slight bummer. But don't give up just yet ... the pack can also be applied to the bonkers, straight-line warrior known as the COPO Camaro (pictured above).
The factory-tuned NHRA sanctioned drag racer (that can be configured with a small-block Gen V V8, a naturally aspirated 427 V8, or a supercharged 350 V8) can also be ordered in this colour, with these stripes, and those badges.
