Weapons-grade bell end causes exotica pile-up in Brazil
The Gumball Rally, and events of their ilk, have never been a favourite of mine — and it's videos like this one that bolster the view.
The crash above in question reportedly took place in Brazil on the night of a Gumball-style timed rally called the TSD (or 'Time Speed Distance') where drivers have to travel from one point to another in a specific time while averaging a particular speed on a public road.
The driver of the offending white Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, clearly wanting to give his mates something fully sick to share on their MySpace pages, lights up the tyres leaving a curb before promptly losing control of the car as it veers left. The good news was that there were no people there for it to collect, the bad news was that instead there was a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Porsche 911 Carrera S.
You would think that in this world of social media where every idiot the crashes while leaving a Cars and Coffee can become a viral sensation within minutes, that people would be smarter than this kind of stupid public-road baloney.
But this is why I'm not a fan of these things; they attract the lowest common denominator of car nut, and subsequently give all of us who love cars a bad name when they inevitably do dumb things in front of cameras like this.
