A newly added model to New Zealand's Mercedes-Benz GLC range will bring with it a new entry point to the brand's popular SUV and Coupe range.
Mercedes-Benz NZ hope the launch of the GLC 200, priced from $82,900, will increases the desirability of New Zealand’s bestselling luxury SUV range to more Kiwis.
Powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 135kW of power and 300Nm of toque, the new model will come standard with Mercedes' 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission and send drive exclusively to the rear wheels, a first for the GLC range. The GLE 200 is also fitted with Dynamic Select driving modes and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Even though the new model is the entry point to the GLC range, the GLC 200 is still fitted with a long list of standard equipment including Parking Pilot with a 360-degree camera, Easy Pack tailgate, entertainment system with seven-inch colour display and touchpad control, satellite navigation, keyless start, electric front seats, black ash wood trim, and LED head-lights.
Mercedes-Benz New Zealand GM Ben Giffin said the GLC 200 was an exciting proposition for the broadest range of luxury mid-size SUV’s available in New Zealand.
“The GLC range now offers something for any customer, providing the widest range of model variants in the increasingly popular luxury SUV segment,” said Giffin.
“Following the launch of the AMG GLC 63 S earlier this year, we are excited to bring the final variant of the GLC range to New Zealand. The new GLC 200 offers the best value in the competitive luxury mid-size segment, while the AMG GLC 63 S remains the only mid-size SUV available with a V8 twin turbo powertrain.”
The new GLC 200 is now availible to order in all New Zealand Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
