New AMG timepieces blend titanium, ceramic and Swiss precision.

New AMG timepieces blend titanium, ceramic and Swiss precision.

  • Mercedes-AMG has introduced three Swiss-made watches: the Business Automatic Chronograph, Essentials Chronograph and Essentials Watch.
  • Each model features high-end materials including titanium, stainless steel and ceramic bezels.
  • Movements range from the Swiss automatic Sellita SW500 calibre to Ronda quartz systems.

Mercedes-AMG has taken its obsession with precision and power to a new frontier - timekeeping.

The performance brand has revealed three Swiss-made watches, each designed to echo the craftsmanship, athleticism and engineering DNA of its high-octane vehicles. The trio, comprising the AMG Business Automatic Chronograph, AMG Essentials Chronograph and AMG Essentials Watch, blend lightweight materials like titanium and ceramic with unmistakably AMG styling cues.

The AMG Business Automatic Chronograph is the most mechanically sophisticated of the set. It houses the Swiss SW500 automatic calibre from Sellita, visible through a sapphire crystal back and tuned for 28,800 vibrations per hour.

A black-coated rotor with AMG branding powers the watch, while the case combines PVD-coated stainless steel with titanium to keep weight down. The layered dial, accented with red sub-dial rings and luminous hands, adds sporty polish to its 43.5 mm frame. Water-resistant to 5ATM, it’s a watch that wouldn’t look out of place beside an AMG steering wheel - or a boardroom table.

Quartz precision meets AMG flair

The AMG Essentials Watch takes a purist approach with its Swiss Ronda 6004 quartz movement: precise, durable and unflappable. Its multi-piece titanium and stainless-steel case mirrors AMG’s aerodynamic design language, while a black ceramic bezel with a subtle red ring nods to the brand’s motorsport soul.

The standout feature is its luminous Globolight XP numerals, made from a glow-charged ceramic that lights up the dial in low visibility. The 40mm watch is slim at 10.5mm thick and water-resistant to 5ATM, perfect for those who prefer their performance understated.

Timing the thrill

Rounding out the collection is the AMG Essentials Chronograph, driven by a Swiss Ronda 5030 quartz calibre with stopwatch functionality. The 43 mm model features a titanium–stainless steel case, matte black ceramic tachymeter bezel and sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

Four luminous ceramic numerals and eight Super-LumiNova indices keep it readable even on night drives. A flush folding clasp keeps the rubber strap sleek and aerodynamic, because even a watch clasp can’t escape AMG’s performance ethos.

Together, the trio distils AMG’s design language into wearable engineering. They may not roar like an AMG GT, but they definitely keep time with the same relentless intent.
