After "redefining the rules" of Grand Touring at the Geneva Motor Show with a teaser that featured just a few glimpses of McLaren's new car, we finally have gotten a good look at it.
While the car is still completely covered in the same camouflage that it was sporting in the teaser, these new pictures show the GT in all its glory. And what a glorious car it is.
Embedded in the sleek front end are new headlights that still follow the design of Mclaren's logo, but aren't set into the bumper like other models in the line-up.
Still only known as the "Grand Tourer", the styling of the car is a lot more reserved than what we have seen in recent times from McLaren. Complementing the new lights, an aggressive looking bumper flows into some sleek side skirts before the huge vents grab attention.
From the rear, the Grand Tourer continues this aggressive theme with sleek light strips that sit above the tailpipes and a large diffuser.
McLaren remained reasonably tight-lipped when revealing the car, but did mention that the interior “will feel spacious, uncluttered and modern with only authentic, high-quality materials employed.”
While mid-engined cars are known for their lack of practicality, you'd expect a Grand Tourer to be reasonably useful, and McLaren addressed this by labelling it "the most usable mid-engined car yet."
Now that the cat's out of the bag with the Grand Tourer, McLaren is going to start testing it in public. This includes a hefty 1600km road trip from their development base in Barcelona to the Technology Centre in Woking, England.
The car will be loaded up with two occupants, "a full compartment of luggage", and will be completed in one go.
