- Next generation of Mazda's core medium-SUV teased.
- Mazda-developed hybrid powertrain in development.
- Full reveal and specification on July 10.
Mazda is teasing its new CX-5 with a series of arty (read: less-than-revealing) images of the newcomer, ahead of its official reveal next Thursday July 10 (8pm New Zealand time).

The new model has already been leaked in some fuzzy images and while specifics of the launch powertrains are not yet known, the company has acknowledged that there's a new Mazda-developed "SkyActiv-Z" hybrid powertrain in development - although that may be a couple of years away.
For now, Mazda is promising "sharper design" with a more spacious cabin, and "advanced... human-centric" technology. We'll know the full story (and show you the finished car) next week.
