- Sleek pure-electric SUV NZ-bound this year.
- Sister model to 6e sedan, RWD and 484km range.
- Dashboard dominated by sweeping 26-inch display.
Mazda New Zealand has confirmed it wil launch the CX-6e EV-SUV towards the end of this year. As with the closely related 6e sedan (set for launch here ahead of the SUV, in the second half of 2026), it's a colloboration with long-standing Chinese partner Changan Automobile.
While much of the technology comes from Changan (which produces the Deepal brand, among others), the CX-6e styling is pure Mazda.
The company says it takes its signature "Soul of Motion" theme and reinterprets it as "Soulful Futuristic Modern". What ever that means. It does look incredibly good, though.
The 78kWh LFP battery powers a rear-mounted motor developing 190kW/290Nm. Claimed range is 484km.
One of the most striking features of the "smart cockpit" is a sweeping 26-inch touchscreen with a customisable dual-split layout. This screen is complemented by a large head-up display that overlays navigation guidance onto the road ahead.
The extended 2902mm wheelbase assists with occupant space, while the CX-6e offers 468 litres of luggage space.
