  • Maserati has unveiled the MCPura at Goodwood 2025 in both coupe and convertible Cielo variants.
  • Powered by a 470kW 3.0-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6, MCPura goes from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds.
  • MCPura features a carbon-fibre monocoque, butterfly doors and a retractable smart-glass roof on the Cielo.

Maserati has lifted the veil on its latest showstopper, the MCPura, at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed

Described as a purer, more intense evolution of the MC20, the MCPura is offered in both coupe and convertible (Cielo) form, each a carbon-fibre machine crafted in Modena, Italy.

The name MCPura says it best: a nod to “pure” energy and performance, sharpened into what feels like Maserati’s most concentrated statement yet. “With MCPura, Maserati is once again regaining its rightful place: at the top and in its stomping ground,” said COO Santo Ficili, referring to the brand’s Motor Valley roots.

Maserati’s launch slogan: E = MCPura - borrows from physics to make a poetic claim: that this car is performance raised to its purest form. Is it just flair? Underneath the sleek skin is the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine from the MC20, churning out 470kW and 730Nm of torque.

The weight-to-power ratio sits at a razor-sharp 3.17kg/kW thanks to the carbon monocoque and sub-1500 kg mass. Zero to 100km/h is billed at a ridiculous 2.9 seconds.

Also retained: those dramatic butterfly doors and, for the Cielo, a smart-glass roof that goes from transparent to opaque at the push of a button. Convertible buyers still get blistering pace (top speed clears 320 km/h) alongside a visual party trick.

Naturally, no Maserati launch is complete without a healthy dose of style. The MCPiura bowed in a special Ai Aqua Rainbow hue that shifts in sunlight: a blue inspired by prisms and light diffraction.

Matte for the coupe, gloss for the Cielo, both pair with magenta Trident badges and Ice Alcantara seats laser-etched in iridescent red and blue for extra visual drama.

Inside, the brand-new steering wheel offers GT2-inspired touches, while the latest Maserati Intelligent Assistant runs the infotainment, flanked by two 10.25-inch displays and a Sonus faber sound system (if you tick the right box).

The Maserati MCPura stands out as a technical and emotional refinement of the MC20’s formula. It aims to honour the past, celebrate the present, and seems destined to shape Maserati’s future in the upper echelons of performance and style.

And yes, orders are already open, though pricing has not been disclosed just yet.
