Mahindra New Zealand are pleased to announce a partnership with legendary Rugby League and Boxing star, Monty Betham, who joins the brand in an Ambassador capacity.
With the 2016 launch of the XUV500 automatic SUV, Mahindra sales have accelerated steadily in New Zealand with family buyers seeing the well-specified diesel 7 seater SUV as excellent value for money.
Both Monty and his wife, Jaymie, will drive XUV500 SUVs and are looking forward to tackling the typical Kiwi family duties in the vehicle.
“Between Jaymie, the two kids and myself, we always have something on the go, but whenever we can we love to get out and explore, so the XUV500 is an awesome car for a family like ours", says Betham.
"It looks smart and there’s plenty of space inside, the diesel engine is excellent and I’ve been blown away by all the features it offers for the price. I can’t wait to head out with the family for summer”
For Mahindra, the connection with Monty reaffirms the brand’s hard-working values which aligns both with Mahindra’s product and company’s ethos “Rise”. It also heralds the start of exciting times ahead hints the brand’s Marketing Manager, Steve Vermeulen.
“Since Mahindra launched in New Zealand, we’ve forged a reputation for tough, no-nonsense vehicles. They just get on with it and get the job done."
"That’s true for Mahindra New Zealand’s culture as well; establishing a brand doesn’t come easy, for some that challenge might keep them up at night, for us, it’s what gets us out of bed in the morning.” Says Vermeulen
“We believe our customers share our drive and Monty is a great role-model for setting goals and pursuing them. Be it on the League field, in the boxing ring, dancing with the Stars, fighting youth obesity or in sports broadcasting. Monty has ignored his detractors and achieved great things.”
Looking forward Mahindra’s future is exciting. On the back of strong growth in 2016, Mahindra New Zealand’s distributor agreement has been extended and refreshed models will be launched into New Zealand in 2017. Additionally, Mahindra Globally has several new products in the pipeline including a “World” Ute currently being developed in Detroit and some exciting co-development programmes with iconic Italian design studio, Pininfarina, which is owned by Mahindra and growing Korean Manufacturer, SsangYong, in which Mahindra has a 73% stake.
Mahindra’s first product designed for the global market, the XUV500 automatic, is unsurprisingly gaining popularity in New Zealand as it represents an awesome vehicle for Kiwi families who need the complete package - practicality, economy and, comfort and value for money.
Monty and his family are an ideal showcase for the XUV500 and Mahindra New Zealand look forward to utilising Monty with future promotional content to help highlight the vehicle’s many benefits.
