Some would say that chopping up a Lamborghini would equate to modern-day motoring sacrilege. Those who subscribe to the idea best avert their eyes.
Last week 'Mad Mike' Whiddett revealed that his next project car would be a rear-wheel drive Lamborghini Huracán — produced as part of a new partnership between the globetrotting Red Bull–backed drifter and the Italian supercar car-maker.
And Whiddett's wasted little time getting his hands dirty.
Less than five days after getting the keys to his sparkly new red Huracán, Whiddett and his 'Madlab' build team have already started the tear-down process. And as part of Whiddett's fast flow of social media updates, a few nuggets of info about the nature of the build have been revealed.
For one, the Huracán isn't going to be a full pro-level drift car. While it will still be a skid and smoke machine, Whiddett's stated that it will also be road legal.
And, while it's still unknown quite whether it's going to retain Lamborghini's 5.2-litre V10 — if it is, expect it to remain naturally aspirated going by Whiddett's admittance on social media that N/A sounds best.
What is known is that the Huracán is going to wear a wild wide-body kit from Liberty Walk Japan, which can be purchased in either a full set or in the form of individual parts. The tuning firm also offer the kit in either FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) or CFRP (carbon-fibre reinforced plastic).
This is a permanent change with no turning back, too. In order to get the Liberty Walk guards onto the Huracán, the Lambo's factory fenders had to be cut through.
There's plenty of work left for the Madlab crew, but we're already loving the stream of updates.
