The Lexus UX Concept has been confirmed as one of the brand’s stars for the Paris motor show, with an official unveiling scheduled for the end of this month.

To go along with today’s announcement, Lexus Europe issued a single photo of the car’s rear profile. As with recent Lexus vehicles, the UX Concept features a heavily creased, origami-inspired body.

Toyota’s luxury brand is saving the interesting details about the vehicle for its full debut in a few weeks time. Lexus says, though, that the UX Concept’s “strongly differentiated identity has been designed to appeal to a progressive, urban audience living in a connected environment”.

Apparently the UX Concept will also feature “imaginative technologies for an immersive driver experience, while the interior combines traditional craftsmanship with high-tech manufacturing techniques”.

The small five-door crossover vehicle is most likely based on the Toyota C-HR.

In the past, typically, Lexus has branded its concepts as LF-something, even if it was a preview of an upcoming production vehicle. This time around, it’s named its Paris debutant as the UX Concept, hinting that a production version is around the corner.

If anyone is hoping for a radically toned down production version, it should be noted that lately Toyota and Lexus have been sticking remarkably close to the concept car template when releasing new vehicles.
