Lexus achieved its best-ever global sales performance in 2024, recording 851,214 units sold - a 103.3% increase year-over-year.
The brand says this steady growth was driven by high demand in North America and Europe, combined with stabilised parts supply.
Electrified vehicles, which include hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and battery electric (BEV) models, accounted for a record 52% of total sales.

Standout models included the new LBX and LM, alongside strong performances from the RX and NX SUVs.
The electrified RZ and UX 300e models also posted a significant 119% year-over-year growth.
Lexus International President Takashi Watanabe expressed gratitude to customers, citing the company's commitment to innovative engineering and expanding product offerings. "In 2024, Lexus launched the all-new LBX and GX, offering a new value experience highly praised by customers," he said.
Lexus New Zealand rises to second place

In New Zealand, Lexus also celebrated a record year, with vehicle registrations rising to 1328 units in 2024, up from 1309 in 2023 and 1022 in 2022. This milestone cemented Lexus as the second-highest-selling luxury car brand in the country.
The result reflects the wider success of the Toyota Group, which continues to dominate the market as New Zealand's top car brand in 2024.
Andrew Davis, Lexus New Zealand Vice President, acknowledged the pivotal role played by the company's network and customer focus: "It has been another incredible year of growth in the Lexus dealer network. We have been delighted in the way our dealership partners have been standing behind the brand; their commitment has brought overall success."
He also noted the appeal of the expanded electrified product range and extensive customer benefits package as key contributors.
Electrified vehicles made up 88% of Lexus New Zealand’s 2024 sales, highlighting the popularity of its hybrid and BEV models.
The compact LBX hybrid, introduced last year, was particularly well-received, boasting a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
Looking ahead, Lexus plans to launch the RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid and a limited-edition RX 500h Black Line in 2025.
This momentum comes as Toyota solidifies its status as the world’s most valuable car brand in 2025, reinforcing the shared success of both marques.
With a strong finish to 2024 and a robust pipeline of new models, Lexus is poised to grow further in both global and local markets in 2025.
