Boutique Italian firm Officine Fioravanti has reimagined the legendary Ferrari F40 with a suite of modern upgrades aimed at refining its famously raw and unforgiving character.
While the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V8 remains untouched, significant changes to the suspension, brakes and wheels promise enhanced drivability without compromising the car’s legacy.
The F40’s original chassis setup, notorious for its twitchy on-the-edge handling, has been extensively reworked.
Officine Fioravanti has developed new suspension arms, hubs and bearings, complemented by four-way adjustable Ohlins TTX 36 dampers.
These components should offer improved stability at high speeds while delivering a more composed ride on rougher surfaces.
Braking has been another focus of the upgrade package.
The factory steel discs have been replaced with carbon ceramic rotors paired with six-piston callipers up front.
Additionally, a modern ABS system has been integrated, a crucial improvement over the original setup, which required significant driver skill to modulate braking effectively.
Officine Fioravanti has opted for larger wheels, moving from the stock 17-inch setup to a staggered 18-inch front and 19-inch rear combination.
While retaining the iconic look, the updated wheels house Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, delivering modern levels of grip and predictability.
Dubbed the F40 Alte Prestazioni - which translates to High Performance - this reimagining is designed with usability in mind.
The company states its goal is to preserve the original components while incentivising owners to actually drive their F40s, rather than keeping them as static investments.
Details regarding pricing remain undisclosed, but given that pristine F40s regularly command figures well into the millions, these modifications will not come cheap.
Whether owners will embrace the alterations or cling to factory originality remains to be seen, but for those wanting a more compliant yet equally thrilling F40, the Alte Prestazioni presents an enticing option.
