It hasn't even been revealed yet, and the Lamborghini Aventadoor SVJ is already a renowned, record-holding thoroughbred. Late last month, the SVJ claimed a new production-car record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife — clocking a 6min 44.7sec lap-time while still dressed in camouflage.
Since the record smash, Lamborghini have been heaping hype on the SVJ's world premiere — which is scheduled to take place at Pebble Beach later today. But, through the power of the internet, we have a picture of the bright green beast here and now.
Though it's only a front-on image, there's plenty we can deduct here.
First and foremost; this is one of the most aggressive looking Lamborghini for years. A pair of flared bonnet-mounted nostrils set the tone for everything else we can see. A front bar normally punctuated by two large air-vents — one on each flank — is now instead almost all hole.
And it's framed by our first clues to the SVJ's 'Active Aerodynamics' technology, including a deeper splitter and a couple of aggressive air curtains.
If anything, the rear looks like it's going to be even more extroverted. A uniquely shaped rear wing has a 'shark fin' built into its centre, while camouflaged rear-on teaser pictures [one of which is below] showcase one hell of a rear diffuser and a pair of 'zorts poking through the middle à la the Huracan Performante (which itself is also a former Nürburgring record holder).
The rest of the Aventador SVJ's details are yet to be confirmed. No doubt they will be revealed at Pebble Beach some time in the next 24 hours.
What is known is that the SVJ will rely on the same 6.5-litre V12 engine as the rest of the Aventador range. It's been speculated that the engine will be stroked to a power output of around 570kW — which would indicate an increase of around 20kW over the Aventador SV and almost 30kW over the Aventador S.
