Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, international automakers have struggled to source labour and parts to build cars, meaning that sales have taken a hit on the showroom floor.

Despite this, Lamborghini has managed to post its best September car sales of all time, delivering 738 customer cars throughout the month, contributing towards the 2,0823 figure for the third quarter of 2020.

If the Italian brand wants to beat last year's record when it managed to achieve a 43% of 2018's figures, it will have to move 8,205 cars before the year is out.

“I’m extremely proud of these results: they affirm the excellent work we have done over the years, maintaining our position as a highly aspirational, desirable and robust brand in the automotive world”, said CEO Stefano Domenicali.

“Our team overcame a moment of significant uncertainty with great flexibility, foresight and readiness to react. We have experimented with new ways to connect with customers and enthusiasts, while continuing our drive to achieve new goals with a constant eye to the future: a distinguishing characteristic of Lamborghini.”

You'll remember that Lamborghini was one of the first brands to shut down its operations in Italy's lockdown, and after a seven-week break, returned to production with safety measures in place.

Upon returning, three new products were launched: the Huracan RWD Spyder, the Sian Roadster, and the Essenza SCV12. The Italian brand also managed to surpass the 10,000 production unit mark on both the Aventador and the Urus during this time.

Most of this success can be put down to the Urus SUV, which saw Lamborghini sales skyrocket and set new records throughout 2019. Let's hope that the exotic brand can continue with this success.
