Despite announcing his departure from the FIA World Rallycross Championship, American Ken Block isn't finished having fun in all-wheel drive Ford rallying machines.
Block has revealed the newest edition to his garage, a genuine 1993 Ford Escort RS Cosworth rally car.
The car began its life as a Group A rally car was campaigned in the WRC championship during the 90s, but Block hasn't left his new car completely period-correct.
"This is a Group A WRC car," Block said speaking with Youtube channel, Hoonigan.
"It started off as a Group A spec then the spec changed a bit to make them a bit quicker in the WRC in the later 90's."
The car now has a 1997 WRC-spec 2-litre engine pushing out approximately 400hp (298kW) of power and 550Nm of torque, power is transferred to both axles via a seven-speed sequential gearbox.
The Escort also features new electronic differentials, controllable via various switches in the cabin, so Block can perform his famous four-wheel drifts and donuts.
Block has also added an anti-lag system, new wheels, side exhaust and BMX-styled grips on the handbrake and gear leaver.
That said, the car does have an original Group A Ford Escort wing, as apposed to the later WRC version which sat slightly lower.
For added kicks, if Block gets bored of his Ford RS hatch or F-150 Raptor road cars he can opt to use his new Escort as it's fully road legal.
But for now, Block intends to use his new toy in the odd U.S rally, and it'll star in his Gymkhana Grid events in America and Europe.
We have no doubt we'll be seeing more of this car in whatever viral video Block has planned next.
