While the majority of the world may be fascinated by SUVs, British manufacturer Jaguar has pulled the covers off the latest iterations of its XE and XF sedans, proving its commitment to traditional cars.
Most of these updates lie beneath the skin of both cars, but a mild facelift has them both looking slightly more aggressive and in line with Jaguar's style than the out-going models.

Starting with the XF, this sedan gets new bumpers, a revised grille, and a tweaked set of taillights. Customers now get a choice of two petrol four-cylinder engines, with the V6 option being ditched for 2021.
Despite the lack of cylinders, these turbocharged fours still pump out some healthy figures with the base model delivering 183kW and 365kW to the rear (or all four) wheels, and the top-spec pumping out 220kW and 400Nm to every wheel.
According to Jaguar this means that the base model can hit 100km/h in 6.5 seconds, with the all-wheel drive flagship model managing the same sprint in 5.8.
The interior of the XF has also been updated with a 12.3-inch digital cluster that sits alongside an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This screen is not only 48 times bigger than the old screen, but is also curved.
When it comes to the XE, there are less significant exterior changes than the XF, but even more on the inside.
The main news here is that the XE gets a new mild-hybrid system that's paired with the 2.0-litre diesel engine. This new engine produces 149kW, and propels the XE to 100km/h in a touch under 7-seconds.
Aside from this new engine, the XE also gets JLR's new Pivi Pro infotainment system that is significantly faster than the unit in the last model. The 10-inch infotainment system supports both Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
It's unknown as to when these new models will land in New Zealand, but we can imagine that it will be sometime next year.
