Back in Australia's glory days, we had HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) and FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) trading blows each year, attempting to outdo the other with more power and performance with each car.
This competition made for some mean machines including FPV's iconic F6s and HSV's GTS models, but sitting atop the Australian throne is the GTS-R W1, which is both the rarest and arguably the most sought-after Aussie machine ever built.

For the Commodore's final send-off, HSV knew that something incredible had to be done so when it neared the end of the F-generation line, the W1 was announced, and it was one hell of a send-off.
Beneath the hood sits a GM-sourced LS9 engine that is significantly different to the LSA that's used in the GTS and GTS-R. This 6.2-litre V8 makes use of a 2.3-litre supercharger, and produces a hefty 474kW and 815Nm.
Like all good muscle cars, power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. We can imagine that you'd need a rather light right foot unless you plan on shredding a set of tyres every week.
According to the listing, this is one of 20 Spitfire Green W1s that were made and was the only one to be sold in New Zealand. The personalised plate is included as well as a second set of W1 wheels and tyres.
