Ineos Automotive has revealed its latest off-road creation, the Kaiju Quartermaster, a one-off build crafted by the brand's Australian division.
Designed as both an adventure rig and a rolling showcase of aftermarket capability, the Kaiju highlights the extent of customisation possible for the automaker's Grenadier and Quartermaster platforms.
Built in collaboration with respected suppliers such as BF Goodrich, Brown Davis, GME, JMACX, MAXTRAX, Norweld, REDARC, Rhino-Rack and STEDI, this bespoke build presents rugged functionality paired with innovative design.
Purpose-driven modifications
Unlike many customised off-road builds that focus on style over substance, the Kaiju Quartermaster prioritises practicality.
Key modifications include a Norweld Elite Tray and Compact Deluxe Lite Canopy, engineered for durability in extreme conditions. These additions offer secure storage for equipment, shielding sensitive cargo from dust and water.
Beneath the tray, a Brown Davis long-range fuel tank expands capacity from the standard 90L to a robust 168L, extending the Kaiju's range for remote adventures.
To support off-grid operations, the build integrates a REDARC electrical system with RS3 Pure Sine Wave Inverters, an Alpha150 lithium battery and a comprehensive power management system.
Paired with STEDI's powerful flood and spot beam lighting, the Kaiju is ready for any scenario, day or night.
Additional features include a MAXTRAX recovery kit and GME's advanced communications setup, which includes a handheld CB radio, heavy-duty antenna and a personal locator beacon.
The Kaiju Quartermaster's off-road prowess is underpinned by a 16-stage adjustable suspension system and aggressive BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tyres. Up front, a factory Roo Bar adds protection and enhances the vehicle's rugged aesthetic.
What's in a name?
The Kaiju name draws from Japanese mythology, symbolising a giant, formidable creature (think Godzilla) - a fitting metaphor for the Quartermaster's robust capabilities.
The choice also nods to Australia's strong off-road culture, which often features modified Japanese vehicles.
The term 'Quartermaster' itself carries historical weight, referring to a dependable logistician responsible for supplying troops in military operations.
Paired with the Grenadier name - historically associated with strength and frontline bravery - the Kaiju Quartermaster embodies resilience and preparedness.
Justin Hocevar, Regional Director of APAC at Ineos Automotive, noted: "The Quartermaster Cab Chassis is a ‘blank canvas’ that allows for great versatility when it comes to customisation, so together with these project partners, we let our imagination run wild. Ultimately, the ‘Kaiju Quartermaster’ expresses our Australian vision of Built For More."
While the Kaiju Quartermaster remains a one-off build, it serves as an inspiring reference point for prospective owners looking to customise their own Ineos vehicles.
