Hyundai are set to combine two of the hottest trends in motoring when the Korean company unveils the world's first full-electric compact SUV later this month.
Ahead of its debut, Hyundai has revealed a single teaser and the first details about the full-electric engine powering its latest EV.
The production version of the Kona Electric will be available in two different powertrain versions, said to offer drivers 'one of the most powerful electric engines on the market.' It's not yet clear if there will by a hybrid plug-in or two full-electric models.
But the full-electric model will have a range of 'almost 470 kilometres' under normal driving conditions. As well as the eco-friendly engine, Hyundai say drivers will benefit from a wide range of convenience and connectivity features as well as active safety and driving assistance technology.

In Q3 of this year the Hyundai Kona Electric will become the first compact SUV with a full-electric powertrain offered in Europe. As yet, Hyundai won't say how many other markets it's eyeing up for it's second full-electric production model.
The Hyundai Kona Electric will follow in the footsteps of its first electric car released to the market in early 2017.
Last year in New Zealand, Hyundai released its first full-electric car - the Hyundai Ioniq sedan - which went on to become the top selling EV of 2017.
In November of 2017, Hyundai's sister company Kia also announced it would be launching two electrified versions of the Niro SUV in Q1 2018.
