Invite-only party for the launch of Holden's new ute
Holden New Zealand has a unique approach to the launch the new Colorado ute and the announcement of its prices by holding a street party – but it’s not just any street.
Pricing starts at $39,900 for the entry single cab LS, while the top of the range LTZ (from $59,490) and Z71 (from $64,990) add a new level of safety and convenience with Front Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Tyre pressure monitor, power folding exterior mirrors and rain-sensing windscreen wipers.
The Colorado features a new interior and redesigned exterior, as well as improvements to ride comfort, quietness, vibration and handling.
It also includes MyLink system with colour touch screen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto headlights, LED daytime running lights, seven airbags and electric power steering are now standard across the range.

“Thanks to a fresh new look, 3.5-tonne towing, car-like levels of refinement as well as enhanced ride and handling plus increased specification, we’re confident Colorado will build on its position as the top selling model in the Holden range,” said Holden New Zealand’s managing director, Kristian Aquilina.
Launching in conjunction with the new model is a wide-ranging suite of 28 all-new accessories (taking the total number of accessories available to 77), all of which further enhance the look and functionality of the new Colorado. Many of the parts were first seen on the Colorado Xtreme Showcar when it visited New Zealand in June.
“Colorado buyers are huge fans of personalising their vehicles and this is the biggest range of genuine accessories we’ve ever launched with a new model,” said Aquilina.
To celebrate the arrival of the ute in dealerships, Holden NZ is holding a special one-off event for the residents of Colorado Place in Auckland tomorrow.
The invitation-only street party is for the residents of the 17 houses on Colorado Place, with some special guests and prizes.
Attending the festivities will be Holden ambassadors and friends of the brand, including All Black legend Stephen Donald (pictured above), four-time Bathurst champion Greg Murphy (pictured) and TV personalities Jono Pryor, Ben Boyce and Guy Williams.
While the street party is closed to the public, the Colorado utes will be dealerships from tomorrow.
