Limited-edition Commodore model launched today
Holden New Zealand today launches a limited-run Commodore "Black Edition" model boasting significant technology and specification enhancements.
One of the final models in the Australian-built Commodore range, the Black Edition will be limited to just 130 vehicles, consisting of 90 SV6 and 40 V8 SS sedans.
The new cars will feature integrated sat-nav, and the latest smartphone connectivity, and will sell for $51,490 for the SV6, and $59,490 for the SS model.
The SV6 model will get head-up windscreen display for the first time.
“New Zealanders have a real affinity with new and exciting technology, and this is the first time Head-Up Display will be available in our SV6 model,” said the Managing Director of Holden New Zealand, Kristian Aquilina.
"Features such as this, as well as integrated Sat-Nav, are usually the domain of more expensive European models, so it’s fantastic to be able to introduce these engaging and safety orientated technologies into these vehicles," he said.
“We’re building real value into this model which makes the new Commodore Black Edition an extremely attractive proposition.”
In addition to new technology, the aesthetics of the vehicle have also been updated to reflect the name of the edition.
“The vehicle’s appearance has been enhanced with adornments including black accent 18” wheels, as well as fender vents, mirror scalps, grille surround, daytime running lights, surround and lip spoiler on the sedan – all of which are in black,” said Mr Aquilina.
Both the SV6 and SS feature the latest version of Holden’s MyLink infotainment system, including a full-colour touchscreen display, Pandora® and Stitcher SmartRadio™, Smartphone connectivity, Enhanced Voice Control and Bluetooth® with Audio Streaming.
The new model will be on sale at Holden dealerships around New Zealand from today and will be on display at the Holden Fieldays stand at Mystery Creek (June 15 – 18).
