Given today, August 1, is the officially designated date for the birthday of horses (for the southern hemisphere), we thought it fitting to identify the most powerful car on sale in New Zealand.
We arrived at Ferrari's SF90 Stradale.
Using a twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 as the starting point, three electric motors combine to output a total of 735kW (985hp or a neat 1000cv in the “chevaux vapeur” measurement preferred by Ferrari), claiming the title.

But what about Lamborghini's Aventador? Not even close with 544kW (729hp).
So it's rather fitting that a prancing horse claims the horsepower stakes; at least that's our neat claim for the day, until someone reminds us about a more powerful car we've forgotten.
For now, stop prancing about, blow out your candles and have some cake, Ferrari.
