7.0-litre V12 rarity up for grabs in England

Undoubtedly one of the biggest stories of New Zealand motoring in 2016 was the arrival of a car touted as New Zealand's most expensive — an Aston Martin Vulcan.

Purchased by pet fooder come motorsporter Tony Quinn, the ‘Highlands Vulcan’, its savage aero, and its $4.2 million dollar price tag ensured that for the space of a solid week it dominated motoring column inches. Driven were among those on the front-line, experiencing the Vulcan first hand during its April launch.

Now, if instead of looking at the Vulcan like the rest of us did — in awe with our jaws to the floor — you stroked your chin and adjusted your monocle and pondered whether one would look good in your own driveway, well you're in luck. One has come up for sale!

Yes, Aston Martin Bristol in the UK have placed a Ceramic Grey and blue example up for sale [pictured above and below], at a smidge under $4.5 million dollars.

It is number 15 in Aston Martin's production run of only 24, and as you'd expect it remains in pristine condition. In its lifetime it's only driven 60km, all of which have been on track (naturally, as the Vulcan isn't road legal anywhere). And at least a few of those miles were covered at the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit in France —where this car took part in media duties.

It's not known who owned this tastefully decorated #15 chassis — many hypercar owners prefer to veil their identity — but hopefully this isn't the end of their four-wheeled spending.
