Ford and Ganassi mean business for their 2016 Le Mans campaign
On the 50th anniversary of Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon's 24 Hours of Le Mans win for New Zealand and for Ford, the latter have returned to the arena with their new Ford GT, and — conveniently — a Kiwi in Scott Dixon.
They also return with the driving force of Ganassi Racing behind them, plus a highly complex, highly intense fitness regime for their long list of star drivers.
If you've got any doubt that top line race drivers aren't 'true athletes' that wouldn't be able to toe it with the Dan Carters and Mahé Drysdales of this world, this video is certainly worth a watch, as several members of Ford's squad talk about what it takes to endure a colossal event like Le Mans.
Dixon will line up next to Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe in Ford's #69 entry, with the event itself taking place next month on June 18–19.
